(In Focus, 20. o.) (Kincses Károly, Kolta Magdolna Hazai anyag, 101. o.)

„I was working in the Leica spirit from the beginning, long before Leica existed,” Kertész recalled, looking at his early pictures. This image is a typical example of how he was able to achieve a spontaneous image with a glass-plate camera. „I was photographing real life – not what was there, but how I felt. That’s the most important thing: you don’t analyse, you feel,’ he recalled.” (In Focus, p. 20) (Károly Kincses, Kolta Magdolna Hazaii anyag, p. 101)
